The Glaziers Lane
scheme was development of 12
number 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes for rent and shared
ownership.
The scheme was to be both environmentally friendly
and achieve high levels of sustainability. This was
achieved using very high levels of insulation and FSC
materials were used throughout.
The scheme also had a requirement for high levels of
air tightness which was achieved using a combination
of membrane and mastic seal.
The air tightness levels achieved for the buildings was
1.17 air changes per hour @ 50 PASCAL's. Current UK
best practice is in the 7-10 air changes range.
To ensure this level of performance The Homes Factory
provided an expanded package which included, insulated
timber ground floors, roof covering, insulation, window
installation, air tightness membrane and dry lining.
The main contractor Trimmings Construction were
delighted with the result and have continued to use our
system on their follow on schemes.
The project took 12 weeks to complete. |
